Jin Lu presently holds the position of Assistant Professor in the School of Computing at the University of Georgia. Additionally, he serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor within the Department of Computer and Information Science at the University of Michigan, Dearborn. In his role, he also contributes as a faculty member in Precision Health at the University of Michigan. Furthermore, Jin Lu is affiliated with the Michigan Institute for Data Science (MIDAS) and maintains a diverse range of research interests. These encompass machine learning, data mining, optimization, matrix analysis, deep learning, public health, biomedical informatics, and health informatics. A special focus lies in transparent machine learning models, high-performance algorithms, and interpretable methods to address significant scientific and engineering challenges. His academic contributions extend to notable venues, as evidenced by his publications in prestigious Bioinformatics and AI-related conferences and journals, including ICML, NIPS, Internet of Things, UbiComp, Neuropsychopharmacology (Nature Publishing Group), IEEE Transactions on Big Data, BIBM, and Systems Biology. Jin Lu's active engagement in the academic community is underscored by his regular participation as a program committee member in various international conferences, such as BIBM, ICML, AAAI, ECAI, IJCAI, and NeuRIPS. He also lends his expertise as a reviewer for esteemed journals like Machine Learning Journal, Journal of Machine Learning Research, IEEE Transactions on Neural Networks and Learning Systems, Neurocomputing, Pattern Recognition Letters, and Journal of World Wide Web.
