make egl.exe shortcut "Transformers" comand line +set game tfq +menu_main make egl.exe shortcut "Transformers Unicron Hub" +set game tfq +map unicron ================================================================ Title : Unicron Hub Plus Pak Filenames : pak3.pak, maps.lst, jetpack.md2, tfq2.ico, tfq2o.ico, this text file Author : Joseph Otey, alias MultiCron (DK), alias Ðøð®hëñgë Email Address : doorhenge@hotmail.com Misc. Author Info : I like da Taffy. Tested with : Quake 2 3.20, Quake 2 Max 0.44, Quake 2 Evolved 0.26c. Description : After being mildly inspired by TF Armada's "The Unicron Battles" I finally decided to get off my butt and finish them. The reason I call it a Plus Pak is it has some enhancemants for Quake 2 Max and Quake 2 Evolved in there. As well as some additions I thought the game needed. Some enhancements deserve explanation: Lazerbeak flyers now have pain skins. The Skulls in the regular game would give off missing frame errors in Quake 2 Max if you hit the transformation button while being one of them after getting killed. Crisper default transformation sounds, and default robot sounds. Now you don't have to copy Sideswipe's sounds over and over to every player folder. New sounds- like step sounds and machine gun sounds at different pitches. (different pitches keep away monotony) Does your empty .md2's cause the game to crash in Quake 2 Max? or do they give off null skin warnings in software mode? then use my handy dandy interchangeable "jetpack.md2" This is just a blank md2 whose skin points to the default male/weapon.pcx so you can copy it into any player folder that doesn't have a workable jetpack. If you don't have a workable weapon for one of your players, you can rename this to weapon.md2 and use it too. How to play : First put the Pak3.pak into the TFQ folder. Then to play the single player version type "map unicron" without the quotes in the console, or go to the "multiplayer/start network server" section and pick it with cooperation on - or if your playing Quake 2 Evolved, go to the single player menu and pick it. To play the deathmatch versions go to the Multiplayer sections and activate them, or type "deathmatch 1" in the console then type "map" followed by the name of the level you want. If you have the music pack put the wavs into the tfq/sound folder to listen to the music in game. unicron (fixed some stuff I shoulda fixed), nsideuni, throat, watrfall, eye, uniboss, legbomb, finscape, monplan If you play in software mode, pieces of the stages will disappear, so your gonna have to type in the console: sw_maxedges 10000 sw_maxsurfs 10000 Or you could make an autoexec.cfg with notepad and add the commands in there, then put it in your tfq folder. If you're playing in Quake 2 Evolved, like with Quake 3 Arena you need to go into your q2econfig.cfg with notepad, scroll down to the line that says: seta com_hunkMegs and increase the values up to 128 or higher, or the game will crash in some stages. If you play in Quake 2 Max, go into your maxconfig.cfg and scroll down to where it says: set cl_explosion_scale and set it to 3 - why? 'cause I said so! Additional Credits to : Guinness & Raijin Z, for doing some shiek texture work and for being good friends. ================================================================ * Play Information * Single Player : Yes Coop : Yes (not tested, but should work) DeathMatch : Yes Difficulty Settings : Yes * Construction * Editor(s) used : Qoole99, Qradient, Bspc, Rust Tutorials, Arghrad, Paintshop Pro, SkyPaint, MapSpy.
