In certain tectonically deformed regions there appears
to be a relationship between strain and the magnetic signature of rocks.
A magnetic fabric is due to anisotropy of the magnetic susceptibility of
certain minerals within the rock. By analyzing magnetic fabrics using a
Kappabridge KLY-2 I am attempting to quantify the relationship between
the magnetic fabric and strain within rocks.
