personal statement.       I live in a state of constant excitement about the new possibilities offered up by the Internet and the amazing uses people are putting it to every day. I want to work in a dynamic environment with people who are as excited about this new technology as I am and have the skills to back it up. I have been involved closely with the Web since 1994, professionally since 1996. My experience ranges from superficial aesthetic concerns (multimedia CD-ROMS, exacting typographics, live streaming broadcast of audio/video events) to hard-nosed backend integration (server administration, security policy implementation, database access) and many things in between. I prefer not to focus too narrowly on any one specific function; to me the most interesting work lies at the intersection of these various disciplines. Engaging graphic design and larger issues of Information Architecture ensure that the full power of complex information technologies can be made genuinely useful to people. Conversely, the technology itself enables radically new business models, new means of artistic expression, new approaches to how we work and play. I am passionate about this new space and have a broad foundation of experience and skills from which to attack new challenges and opportunities.
