Jamsay Grammar
This is a substantial but far from final draft. A cursory introduction to the grammar is in chapter 2. The final version will be submitted after my next fieldwork in Mali, which will probably begin in summer 2006. In the final version there will be a sample text, an index, a proper table of contents (the present one does not have actual page numbers), and consecutive numbering of examples. The data are chiefly from Dianwely Kessel, a village near Douentza.
I also have a Jamsay-English-French Dictionary in spreadsheet form. I am working on developing a lexical website for this and other Dogon lexical material. I have transcribed some 3-4 hours of Jamsay text and will be keyboarding and disseminating them in some form in due time.
The project is financed by the National Endowment for the Humanities.
Please do not download or print the pdf's. The manuscript will be withdrawn from my website on publication.
