Poetry and Pacifism: Angela Morgan and The International Congress of Women

Angela Morgan was an American poet, author and journalist who attended the International Congress of Women, held at The Hague, Holland in 1915. At this conference held in protest of World War I, Angela Morgan recited what was to become one of her better known poems, "Battle Cry of the Mothers." The focus of this web site is to connect, through her poetry, the events surrounding World War I, the women's peace movement and Angela Morgan's life.
