ohio may have totally screwed up the 2004 election, but you can't blame the waterfalls, streams, and valleys for that. i mean you can, and i do, but i am still woo'd by their beauty. the hocking hills area offers more waterfalls, cliffs, caves, and other natural formations than you can shake a stick at. i mean you can, and i did, but expect some strange looks. kids, stay away from that man with the stick, he's not right, devil's got his soul. but really, isn't it important to see how many things you can shake a stick at before you start going around telling people that there is no way possible to shake a stick at that many things? one day someone will develop an automated robot stick shaker and all bets will be off.

most things in the park can be seen without having to walk more than a mile which, along with the relatively small size of each area, means it can get crowded. this doesn't take away from the sheer beauty, much, but if you visit you may want to try to do it on a weekday or during a torrential downpour when less people are likely to be around. when we were hiking around the old mans cave area it was almost like being in a mall with all the people and kids around. but don't get excited, there's no GAP there, yet.

a very high waterfall shot off the edge of this cliff creating a small circle of "rain" below.

near cedar falls. we hiked from cedar falls towards old mans cave, it was a nice hike along the base of a cliff along a small river with a few waterfalls.

cantwell cliffs. this was a nice area that we didn't have time to explore much. like some of the other areas, there were waterfalls lunging off cliffs here.

pictures from greener times taken in better light by better photographers.

it would be a cool place to visit in the winter, i think.

more winter goodness.
