Hi Steve:
1. PSE is NOT going to do anything. The discontinued bow they sent me WAS their answer. I'm just going to keep on informing others as to what "could" happen to them if they buy a PSE.
2. I was snooping around Mathew's web site the other day and sent in an e-mail requesting information about the law suite. They responded in a day or two, saying in effect "they would, and will soon put this matter behind them" So, I would infer that its getting close to conclusion, but I don't know this for a fact. I'm sure Mathew's isn't really going to say something about an on-going suit, so we'll just have to wait. I wish I knew where it was happening at, or some reporter that was following the story. I'm dying too know how badly PSE gets it.
3. Finally, as far as my Mathews goes...I love it. Its only 1 season old, but I just love it. I can not say enough about it. Its not the fastest around (my crono shows 290 fps)70 pounds, with ACC shafts and 4 inch feathers with a 100 grain point), but it is the quietest bow around AND there is no felt recoil. I wasn't using a stabilizer for a while, then I recycled one that was on my old bow and added it, since I already had one available. I killed 5 deer this year. All were pass-throughs and none ran further then 60 yards.
There are alot of bows out there. About the only bit of advice I can give you, is to go to a pro-shop and "SHOOT" a bunch of different bows, and see what "FEELS" right. I don't care if its a Hoyt, Darton, Bear etc...IF IT FEELS RIGHT, then that's the bow for you. Money is not a good indicator of the "right bow for YOU".
I would definitely recommend a Mathews. Most of my friends had one before me, or are now converting to them. They are expensive.
Good hunting,
Jeff-
