This is the 'benz of treestands. Similar to, but slimmed down from the original DNATSEERT IPA.
The old rectangular base added "unused area and weight". Now, with the new angled base struts, this problem is eliminated.
Set
your saw's rip guide to the desired thickness for struts. The
thicker, the stronger but it will add more weight. |
Rip
a bunch of struts out of old 2x4's. Watch out for knots in the
wood, they will break. |
Begin
with a 2x4 or 2x6 base cut to the proper angle, add main struts.
Use Liquid Nail exterior adhesive and screw together with drywall
screws. |
Mark
the angle to cut for the front main strut and cut. |
Here
are two stands being built. The stand on the left has a 2x6 base
and the stand on the right has a 2x4 base. |
Slats
are rough cut for length and set on top. Always build from the 2x6
or 2x4 base OUT TO THE END. |
The
main struts on the outsides have been glued and screwed. Five
slats have been added with the sixth slat being marked for cutting. |
All
base slats have been added. Note the end slat COVERS THE END of
the two main slats, rather then fitting inside between them. |
