The Continuing Adventures of a Home Shop Machinist |
The lathe is a 1952 Logan 11x36 - two years older than I am, and aging about as gracefully. But despite the worn ways and the chipped paint it's still got some life left in it. The shop is only ten years old, but in that time it's accumulated 25 years of clutter! I mounted an illuminated magnifier on the cross slide, it does double duty as a chip guard. The hardest part is adjusting it so I don't have glare from the overhead lights. Good lighting and safety glasses are a must! |
