The Constitutional Record of George W. Bush
President George W. Bush has failed in his most important responsibility "to preserve,
protect and defend" the Constitution of the United States, according to a new Cato
Institute study. The authors of the study, legal scholars Gene Healy and Timothy Lynch, say
that the administration's sweeping claims of executive power in the Padilla case would
suggest that Mr. Bush believes "the liberty of every American rests on nothing more than
the grace of the White House." The study, "Power Surge: The Constitutional Record of George
W. Bush," details a pattern with the Bush administration of a "ceaseless push for power,
unchecked by either the courts or Congress" on issues ranging from war powers, habeas
corpus, and federalism to free speech and unwarranted surveillance.

CRUCIFY THE TELEMARKETERS
Telemarketers infringe (tresspass) on my phone and time. At least I let my answering
machine screen for such calls and if any messages are put on my machine by them, I do
delete them.
There is now a "do not call" registry to put one's phone number on. I did it with my
phone number.
Here is the homepage to do it on ---
National Do Not Call Registry
The ones who are against such a list should be the ones who have to pay for the list.
- Call the Telemarketers at: 866-500-4272 and tell them how crappy they are.
CRUCIFY THE SPAMMERS!
The Spammers fill my email box with junk mail. Then I have
to waste my timehitting the delete and maybe reply with four letter words telling them
what to do.
In the newspaper article below, I notice "E-mail giants plan an assault on spam". I wish
them luck, since for quite a while now for each and every day I get a lot of spam that
I have to go through and delete.
From "THE ANN ARBOR NEWS", Monday, Apr. 28, 2003
E-mail giants plan an assault on 'spam'
Three of the nation's largest e-mail account providers, normally bitter rivals, today are
to announce a joint assault on spam, vowing to collaboratively hunt down unsavory e-mailers
and explore industry standards that would curtail the ability to create bulk electronic
mailings.
Representatives of America Online, Microsoft Corp. and Yahoo Inc. stressed that their
initiative against unsolicited e-mail (nicknamed "spam") is a first step in what they hope
will be an industry effort.
Such an alliance is rare in the world of consumer
technology, and is testimony to the devastating effect spam has on digital communications.
Spam now accounts for an estimated 40 percent of all e-mail traffic.
