Youth, Education, & Society (YES) project (part of the RWJF's 'Bridging the Gap: Informing Practice for Healthy Youth Behavior initiative' and NIDA's 'Monitoring the Future'). The major goal of this project is to continue to build a research framework within which particular policies, programs, and practices adopted at the state, community, or school level can be evaluated effectively. The ultimate goal is to help bring about changes in society that will ameliorate the problem behaviors of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use by American young people. More recently, the project has expanded to identifying individual, school, and community-level factors associated with increased obesity among youths. http://www.yesresearch.org/

The center includes 3 support cores, 4 research core projects and 1 pilot study. Project #3, Efficacy of a tailored oral health education program, is an RCT to test the efficacy of an individually-tailored intervention aimed at enhancing oral health in this population by addressing individual behaviors and the material and social context (neighborhood context) that impact oral health.
