Koishikawa Miki

Miki is a junior in high school when the show begins. She is not seen as very beautiful but has a wonderful personality. She is also easily hurt and takes people at face value. Her emotions rule her life. Her personality is what draws people to her. Not only the guys in her life but also her friends, especially Meiko , her best friend. Miki is honest and trustworthy and can't tell a lie to save her life. People see right through her so she does not try to be anything other than herself.

Miki getting ready Miki has been in love with Ginta since middle school and he loves her too but certain circumstances prevented them from being together (hmm...maybe for a purpose?). Then she meets the guy who is going to be her step-brother and falls for him. When Ginta realizes that there is going to be competition, he decides to show Miki how much he loves her. Miki is confused and has to decide (because Ginta is pushing her to) between Ginta and Yuu . Not wanting to hurt Ginta, she keeps asking for more time.

Miki is in the tennis club (along with Ginta) and you can actually see how she develops her tennis abilities during the span of the series. She also has an exchange diary that she exchanges with Meiko (we see her writing in this almost every episode) and this is how Miki shares her secrets with Meiko. Miki also has a robot voice recorder that she leaves messages (and receives messages) for people she cares about. The robot voice recorder plays an important role in the show.

Miki happy The reason guys fall for her:

Ginta: "You (Miki) had a cheerful smile, were full of energy, and were cute..." episode 5

Yuu: "Unlike me, you're honest and pure. You give everything your all."
Miki: "You mean I'm uncomplicated."
Yuu: "It's why...I love you." episode 25.

Kei : "Her big voice...mistakes...and smile, I watched. She made me smile naturally. I hadn't laughed so loudly for a long time." CD "Love Affairs" #16.

Miki is one of the characters that starts out kind of child like but matures as the series goes on. You can really see her mature after each time she thinks she is losing Yuu. She really acts mature in episode 61 at the airport (sorry, you gotta see it) and she seems to grow up again in the last few epsiodes.
