Kijima Takuji
Kijima dated Ryouko in high school before she fell in love with Namura. Kijima's parents moved to America and he went with them, breaking up with Ryouko so she could start a relationship with Namura. On his travels in the U.S., he was in New York when his Toryo Medallion fell out of his bag and a young lady picked it up.
It turns out that the young lady was also from Tokyo and went to Toryo. She was in love with him in high school but was too shy to tell him so when he moved, she put her medallion in his school bag to let him know that someone was thinking of him. He recognized Rei at once and they started dating and eventually they got married. Never underestimated the power of the Toryo medallion (legend is if you put the picture of the one you love in it, they will start to love you too)! Rei is introduced in the third season.
Kijima has a special relationship with Yuu and the two are more friends than they are employer/employee. Kijima know Yuu's moods and he also knows that when something is bothering Yuu, he will ask for a cup of coffee. Kijima is very fond of Miki and he encourages the young lovers in their relationship. Kijima is a very interested character to watch. He is one of my favorites.
