Miki is refusing to go to school the next day. Yuu comes in her room and says that she doesn't look sick. He tells her to get ready. She throws her pillow at him.
At school, Meiko and Ginta are waiting for Miki to show up. Miki sees Ginta, gives Meiko the diary and runs off. Yuu and Meiko are confused. Later, Meiko reads the diary and understands what is going on. She thinks to herself "I'd intended what I said to encourage you, not make things worse." After school, Ginta tells Miki that he wants to talk to her. She says that she doesn't want to hear it. She runs off. Yuu asks him if they had a fight. Ginta tells him that it is none of his business. Yuu is ready to confront Ginta when Meiko tells him to let it rest.
At home, Miki is in her room sulking when Yuu tells her that they should go somewhere. Miki tells him to help himself. He comes in her room and takes her by the arm.
Yuu takes her by bike to a seaside park. There, they skip stones on the water. Miki basically relaxes. On the way home, Yuu explains that he explored when they moved in and that is how he found the place. He tells her that he goes there when he wants to cheer up. Miki is touched that he wanted her to cheer up.
At home, Miki puts her memobot in Yuu's room. She thanks him. He returns it to her door. He tells her that the place is a secret.
After school the next day, Miki runs out of the classroom to get away from Ginta. Arimi is waiting for Yuu at the front gate. Miki sees her and they exchange pleasantries. Ginta comes running after her and Miki panics. She grabs Arimi by the arm and pretends they are long time friends. They walk away from Ginta. Arimi is miffed.
Ginta wonders who Arimi is. He looks down and sees Miki's memobot lying on the ground. He picks it up and accidentally presses the play button. Miki and Yuu's message replays itself. Ginta is angry.
Arimi decides that since Miki dragged her out, she may as well buy her a snack. Miki agrees. Over the snack, they talk about Yuu and how Arimi knows him. Arimi tells her that they met while on the same committee in school. Arimi asked him out but he said that he wasn't interested in anyone at that time. She asked him to try it for 3 months. After 3 months was up, he broke up with her. She was devastated. Arimi told him "In your whole life, you'll never be normal when it comes to love". He tells her she might be right. She decided after that to give up but then they met again at the WonderDog. This time, she says, she won't give up so easily.
When she gets home, Ginta is waiting for her. She tells Ginta they are friends, not lovers. She tells him that he turned her down a long time ago so they can never be that way again. He tells her what really happened that day of the letter.
He tells her that the magazine she put the letter in wasn't his. When his friend got the magazine back, the letter fell out. His friend read it to everyone. Since all the guys in the class were interested in Miki, they all decided that none of them would be the first to ask her out. He didn't have the courage to go against them so he lied and said that he wasn't interested in her. Her showing up was just bad timing. He knew that their relationship would be over after that so he dropped all his plans for her. Then Yuu showed up and he just couldn't let him have her. He has always loved Miki. He then holds her memobot out to her.
