The next morning, Miki has overslept and when she gets downstairs, no one is around. The parents are just going out the door and they remind her that Yuu had the weekly school duties so he had to leave early. She walks dejectedly into the kitchen. When she gets to school, she goes over to her friends and she sees Suzu on the cover of Seventeen. This brings back all of her worries. Then we see her in the school cafeteria talking to Meiko about her insecure feelings about Suzu and Yuu. Meiko comforts her. Ginta come over and tells her that the club sweatshirts are in and that they should go pick them up before club after school.
After school, Miki and Ginta pick up the shirts and Miki looks at them and says how cool they are. Ginta wants to get them back to the others so they can pass them out. Then they see Arimi outside a cafe, waiting for someone. One of her fan club members, Murai, comes out and they walk off together. Ginta says how nice it is that Arimi has a new boyfriend and that he is happy for her. Miki notices how forced Ginta is being in his happiness and is concerned for him.
Ginta thinks about his changing feelings for Arimi and how she would not be able to take him seriously since he just got over Miki. He feels that she would not believe his feelings if he told them to her. Ginta is pretty miserable. He believes that if he stays away from her and doesn't see her, his feelings will eventually disappear.
Back at home, Miki is miserable without Yuu being there. Yuu comes home and Miki runs to him. Yuu tells her that he came home early just to spend time with her. They make plans on Sunday to go out. Miki realizes that she has been worrying for nothing. They sit down in the living room to discuss plans for Sunday and he starts tickling her. They get ready to kiss and the parents come in. They quickly separate.
On Sunday, they go to a park. They rent a boat and go canoeing. Then they eat hot dogs at the concession stand. Then they sit on a hillside and talk. Miki tells him that she can't wait until he finishes the commercial so she can spend more time with him. Yuu tells Miki that he soon wants to go on a trip to see some architectural buildings. He says that he got into architecture to be close to Miwa-san, who he thought was his father, but he discovers that he really enjoys architecture. Miki then asks if he is going by himself. He says yes. Miki then asks if she can go with him. Yuu looks at her and asks if she really thought about just the two of them being alone. Miki is embarrassed because she was thinking of it as a family kind of trip. He then asks if she really wants to go and Miki says yes. He says that if that's the case, he is going to have to work harder to earn money for both of them. Miki tells him that she will pay her way. He asks if she doesn't want him to support her and she says it's not that but that she wants to get a part-time job and do it herself.
They next day at school, Miki scours the ads looking for a part-time job. Meiko asks why she wants a job and Miki gets all embarrassed. As they walk home, Meiko is looking for a snack shop when they see a new ice cream shop and decide to try it. Miki notices a part-time job opening at the shop and applies. At home, she knocks on Yuu's door and enters. She is dressed in her new uniform. He mentions how short the skirt is. Miki gets all self-conscious and says that it is longer than her tennis skirt. Yuu then tells her that he likes the outfit and motions for her to sit down between his legs on the bed. She is a little embarrassed to do so but does sit down. Then he puts his arms around her and they cuddle. Miki is happy.
The next day, Miki starts her part-time job. Her manager tells her that she is very cheerful. Miki touches the medallion in her pocket and thinks about it bringing her luck. In the meantime, Yuu is getting measured for his outfit for the commercial. Suzu asks what it is going to look like and they tell her it is a secret. After they are finished, Suzu runs up to him and asks him out to dinner. He tells her no that it is time for him to go home.
Back at the ice cream shop, they need to refill the chocolate chip ice cream and Miki goes to the freezer to get some more. She finds it on the top shelf and pulls a latter over to get it. She thinks about what Yuu said about the skirt being short but since there is no one around, she won't worry about it. Just as she reaches for the ice cream, the door opens and someone walks in. She turns very quickly so see a young man come in and she puts her hand on the back of her skirt and looses her balance. She falls and he tries to catch her. She ends up landing on top of him. She jumps up and is very embarrassed. She asks if he is ok and he says yes. She apologizes and runs out the door. The young man is ready to leave when he sees something on the floor. It is Miki's medallion. He picks it up and looks at it. Then he swings it back and forth.
