SIDE EFFECTS OF A KISS.
"I Don't Understand His Feelings."

Miki is driving herself crazy remembering Yuu's kiss. She doesn't know what to think about it or what to do about it.

Miki goes downstairs with the intentions of pretending she was asleep when Yuu kissed her. Miki walks in the kitchen and Yuu is alone at the table reading the newspaper. He makes some small talk and then resumes reading. Miki stares at him and he wants to know what she wants. She tells him nothing. He tells her to eat her breakfast before it gets cold. She picks up her toast then asks him for the apricot jam. He hands her marmalade and says that that is all they have. She then compares him to marmalade, he looks good on the outside but inside, he's full of tricks. As she is congratulating herself on a good comparison, he comes back with Miki is like mustard. Hot and spicy. She gets upset and he walks out of the house.

trioAt school, Miki remembers the kiss. Then, Lunch-Time News comes on and Yuu is the feature. All the girls squeal. The reporter asks about Miki and Yuu tell the audience that they live in the same house. Miki then bursts into the studio and tries to hide their situation under the rug. The reporter makes a fuss about it and Miki pounds his head on the desk.

In the hallway, Miki's friends are talking about Ginta being jealous of Yuu. Miki says that's impossible since Ginta dumped her a long time ago. In Chemistry class, Miki remembers when she started liking Ginta. She watched him all day long. One day, he gave her a pin that his cousin got from Wimbleton. That night, she wrote her feelings down in a letter and put it in Ginta's magazine. His friend was reading it out loud when Miki walked in on them. She was devastated. The next day, Ginta came into school with a short haircut. Miki figures it was his way of apologizing.

Later, at home, Miki is daydreaming about the kiss and Ginta again. Chiyako comes in and invites her down for cake. Chiyako notices that Miki is studying math and tells her that math in Youji's best subject. She decides to eat cake while Youji helps her study. Miki gets caught up in the friendly atmosphere then remembers her vow to stay away from them. She goes back to her room.

The next morning, Rumi asks Miki what she would like for dinner. Miki reminds her that she is a bad cook and not to worry about it. Miki leaves.

After school, Yuu is waiting for her. He takes her by the hand and tells her that they are going shopping. At a store, Yuu tells her to pick something out for her mother since it is her birthday. Miki is upset that she forgot about it. She figures that is why Rumi wanted to cook. Yuu tells her that he understands her feelings but they should all get together to celebrate Rumi's birthday. Miki's feelings for Yuu underwent a big turnabout in that moment.

The family celebrates Rumi's birthday.

Going through packages that night, Miki comes across Yuu's yearbook. When she picks it up, a picture of Yuu and a girl falls out.
