Miki calls Meiko's house and it is fairly late. The maid tells her that Miss Meiko is out right now. Miki wonders where Meiko could be so late.
Miki leaves early for school the next day. She doesn't want to face Yuu who was kissed by Arimi the day before.
At school, Miki notices that Meiko is not at school yet. Just then, Meiko arrives for class. Namura is not too far behind her.
Later, at lunch, Miki is banged on the head with something. Yuu has her lunch that she left at home in her haste to leave. She smiles at him and then she notices that Meiko is gone. Miki wonders where she went.
Meiko is in the library when she hears someone coming. Thinking it is Namura, she smiles. It is Miwa. He notices that she was waiting for someone. He asks if it is a girl or a guy. She leave that up to his imagination.
In the classroom, Ginta motions for Miki to follow him. They go to the school roof. He tells her that he's decided to wait for her to make up her mind. He is sure that she will see that he is better than Matsuura. But he tells her that he can't promise to wait forever so she had better make up her mind soon. They are both embarrassed by his outburst. Then he says that he has noticed during tennis club that her legs are getting thicker. She gets mad. He says that he is not the only one who has noticed it. She says that the boys talk more than practice and that is why the club is not as good as it used to be. They make a bet for cake at the Loft House. Miki is happy that things are back to normal.
Namura is requested at the principal's office.
Yuu and Miki leave for school the next morning and notice all the students talking about something. When they get into the classroom, they ask what is going on. Ginta and the other classmates tell her about Meiko and Namura dating. She doesn't want to believe it but then Meiko comes in and says that she has been suspended for a while.
Meiko runs into Miwa as she is coming down the stairs. She says that he now knows the reason. He says so that's why his efforts were fruitless.
Miki wants to go talk to Namura but instead is stopped by Kyoto-sensei.
Miki skips school to go see Meiko. They talk in the garden at Meiko's place. Meiko tells her about running to Namura because of her parents that night and how she cried and cried. Finally she fell asleep holding his hand. That is all that happened that night. Miki asks why Meiko didn't come to her and Meiko says that she doesn't need a friend like Miki. Miki is hurt and runs off.
Miki runs home and lock herself in her room. She won't answer Yuu who knocks at her door. Miki can't stop crying.
