3 months, he still only saw her as a friend and broke up with her. Devastated, Arimi ran away from him yelling, "When it comes to love, you will never be normal!" Yuu replied after she was gone, "You might be right."
The next time Arimi saw him was at the amusement park in episode 3. She lets Miki know that she was still interested in Yuu and was going to fight for him. Not getting any response from Yuu over the next few episodes, Arimi realizes that Miki is torn between Yuu and Ginta. She decides to convince Ginta to team up with her to make Miki jealous. Ginta agrees to after Arimi talks him into it. At this time, Arimi is not a very likable character. She is scheming and devious. She makes poor Miki really suffer.
Ginta's cousin, Rokutanda Tsutomu, has been in love with Arimi since elementary school and throws a fit every time he sees either Yuu or Ginta with Arimi. Arimi only thinks of him as a friend and really gets anoid with him as the series goes on. Once Arimi realizes that Yuu and Miki are not going to be
separated, she tends to fade out of the storyline. We see her again in episode 23 when Ginta and her are paired up on an adventure. She confesses that she has given up on Yuu and Ginta tells her that he has also lost Miki. They enjoy each other's company. We next see her in episode 27 at Sagaki Academy (her high school) when she sees Ginta and talks to him. They discuss their previous loves and Ginta realizes that Arimi is not doing so good. He wants to comfort her and almost succeeds when his cousin interrupts them. Later in the episode, Ginta sees Arimi running track and realizes that he is attracted to her. Miki also sees this and teases him. In episode 32, Arimi joins Ginta at the Toryo High School festival. In episode 36, Ginta and Arimi go on a real date and share their first kiss in the Christmas episode. Arimi becomes one of Miki's best friends and is there for her after episode 54 when Miki's life takes a serious turn (sorry, you have to watch it). Miki also helps get Ginta and Arimi back together after they have a fight later in the series.
By this time, Arimi is a gentle person with a wonderful personality and is not the same pushy, aggressive person that she was. It is a joy to watch her grow up and mature into such a nice character. You find yourself really rooting for her.
