Janie Paul

As a painter and printmaker, I am drawn to the variety of forms and patterns which exist in nature, from the smallest leaf to the broadest horizon, and particularly to how things approach, touch and resonate with each other. My work is embedded in a belief in reverie, world building and the hidden treasures of everyday life. As a community based artist, I am committed to enabling disenfranchised people discover themselves as artists. I am interested in revealing the power and the beauty in what is ordinary, unnoticed or forgotten, whether it is a painted landscape, a prisoner making art with found materials, or a child drawing on the floor of an inner city school.
