NOTE: Names of persons are normalized in these indexes, but in our transcriptions the surnames appear
literatim, as written in the documents.
In some few cases, imagination may be required in discovering the surname in a document that matches the normalized
name in the index.
For example, "East" might appear as "Yeast".
Additionally, persons of some standing were often referred to in the documents simply as Mr or Mrs, with no
forename.
No attempt has been made to supply missing forenames (or other information) even where they are known from other
sources.
All indexes are bound to have errors or omissions, and this index is no exception.
