The modern languages
building is a four story brick and reinforced concrete structure with a full
basement. It is located on Ingalls Mall and Washington
Street. It was built in 1972, and designed by
Albert Kahn and Associates.[107]
Nearly all the classrooms in
the building are dedicated to undergraduates.
Small classrooms and a studio are located in the basement and second
floors with lecture halls and auditoriums on the first floor. The second floor also houses the Language Resource Center. The third and fourth floors are entirely
used for offices. Only on these floors
is there a hollowed out light court in the center of the building.
