Located near the School
of Public Health,
Mary Markley Hall was built to hold 1,200 women. The “H” shaped six story structure was
built in 1959.[107]
The middle section of the H contains the cafeteria, libraries, study
rooms, the Markley Hideaway (fast food), and lobby. The dormitories, mostly doubles, are
located in the two wings on either side of the central section.[11]
When the building first became coed, men were housed in
one wing with women in the other.
Today, the building is coed.[18]
