East
Hall was located where the David Dennison Building
stands today. It was a two story brick
structure that was built as a public school building in 1883.[46] In 1922, it was purchased for $76,200 from
the Ann Arbor Board of Education and converted to university uses.[46]
During its lifespan, the building provided offices for the Engineering
and English departments, as well as general classroom space. East Hall was demolished in 1961.[107]
