Think about what 2 times you would like to investigate/represent: your past (when?), childhood, 1920, your grandmother's era, your future (what year?), one minute ago, now, B.C., a million years ago, during the renaissance, during the Japanese Edo period, at the moment after JFK was assassinated, before there was electricity, when dinosaurs roamed the planet, during segregation in the U.S., yesterday, today, last week, last summer, this summer, etc.
Time 1 :
Time 2:
With your piece, create a visual and conceptual relationship between them. What connections are you making between these two different eras, places, events, ideas, etc.? How are those connections made apparent to the viewer? Are there formal similarities, timing and rhythm connections, similar images? what changes occur over time? What is your personal connection to these different time periods?
