Things to think about
  • This animation is a short intro piece meant to introduce the Public Television audience to an artistic video or short produced in the School of Art and Design
  • Katherine Weider is the Creative Producer for the Art and Design television segments that will be shown on UMTV. She will make the final decisions regarding the use of student animations for television.
  • Look at BBC2's consistent logo but varying themes for ideas/inspiration
  • The animation/movement/style is completely open for interpretation
  • Think about the wide variety of ways this raw Illustrator graphic can be formed and re-interpreted. From using the shape as a mask, motion path, or alpha matte or animating the various points individually to creating 3D shapes and lines, the possibilities are limitless.
  • Consider the different ways in which PLAY can be interpreted:
-VCR context with FF, REW, REC, PAUSE, STOP, etc.
-words in which PLAY is a component: playground, playful, child's play, player piano, playing games, foreplay, playing house, etc.
