Readings from "A Reader in Animation Studies," ed. by Jayne Pilling
"Narrative Strategies for resistance and protest in Eastern European animation" and "The Thief of Buena Vista: Disney's Aladdin and Orientalism"
(Both readings are bundled together under the title, "Narrative Strategies..." on Course Reserves)

(5) The artists mentioned in the Eastern European article all worked under severe restrictions on imagery and content forcing them to create works that, at times, were more symbolic and indirect in their final form. Name one strategy and how it worked to helped to create work that managed to pass the censors examination.
