Little did I know when I got on my plane in Traverse City, MI what crazy times were awaiting me. While photo evidence is rather scarce (most of the time I didn't want to lug around my camera), I can assure you that the week I was in London with the 100 other students going abroad through Butler were absolute madness! It was a rather good start to my studying abroad experience :-D

So I had a really long layover at Newark Airport, as did heaps of other Butler people. A group of us clicked instantly and found ways to make the time pass quickly. The notorious Airport 5, from left- my roomie in London Dustin, Lindsay (above), Mindy, me, and Amy.

You can't go to London without getting all poshed up and (at least pretending to) living the good life. The Airport 5 + two others caused a bit havok at a few of the finer local establishments ;-)

But my time in London wasn't spent entirely on exploiting the lower drinking age limit. I also did a bit of the tourist thing...here is the rather impressive Tower Bridge on the Thames.

More touristy stuff...me posing in front of the Tower of London. Not often that you find a building that has been used as a prison, royal palace, barracks, and in heaps of other manners. The Crown Jewels are kept here and in an utter lapse of security, they allowed myself and Lindsay to get a look at them. Let's just say that I now have a new life goal.

This dude is a Beef Eater. Yes, there are actual Beef Eaters (it isn't just a type of alcohol you big alkie!). Once royal servants, now they serve as witty and entertaining guides to the tower. Our particular one seemed to be a bit obsessed with beheadings. But perhaps that's just a British thing.

Tourists (like girls to the bathroom) always have to go in groups. Lindsay and Amy were my group and made the siteseeing much more hilarious.

We all got our cell phones right away and discovered the joys of sending text messages. Ah, but it wasn't until about 3 am after a ridiculous night out that we discovered true nirvana - drunken text messaging. Notice Dustin glaring in the background as he tries to sleep.

Onward, to page 2! No, I'm too scared. Take me to the Index!
