Post-spending vacations back home with the parents, it was time to fly back over the Atlantic...since there was still about 10 days before the start of term, I decided to pop up to Scotland to visit HWH buddy Claire in Edinburgh, where she studies. Anyway, aside from only getting one or two nice days, it was a blast!
So, yeah, some pictures of the city -

Two shots of Edinburgh's prominent castle. Surrounded on three sides by rather steeply sloped rocky cliffs, it easy to imagine why nobody was too keen on trying to lay seige...

The National Gallery of Scotland is in large building in the center, surrounded by a bit of central Edinburgh.

This is literally just outside of Claire's flat - the National Library of Scotland. Just to the right is part of the Parliament House. Personally, I think it'd be really cool to live so close to many national monuments, but Claire didn't seem to think it was a big deal at all!
A section of "The Royal Mile" - a stretch of the city's oldest buildings, all built on what used to be the main road leading up to the castle.
The large spire you can see, while once a religious building of some sort, has now been made into the Tourist Information Center. Thought that was a bit odd.
More of Scotland (inc. a pic of Claire, ooh la la)
