Liz is a graduate from Lafayette College in Easton, PA. During her time there she worked on the synthesis and characterization of organometallic compounds under Professor Chip Nataro and contributed to Professor William Miles synthesis of Vitamin D3.

Liz recently joined the Al-Hashimi lab in April. She is currently studying the wildtype trans-activation response element (TAR) of HIV-1 through NMR. After fully assigning wtTAR and elucidating its structure, she will study its interaction with tat, the trans-activator protein. This interaction is essential for HIV-1 viral replication, and, thus, is a very promising target for anti-HIV intervention therapy.
