For the first 14 volumes (1963-1976) there was no stated editor-in-chief although Hécaen was managing the journal de facto.
There was a board of editors (the founders): DEREK DENNY-BROWN (Boston), CLAUS FAUST (Freiburg-im-Breisgau),
HENRY HÉCAEN, (Paris), ALEXANDER LURIA (Moscow), KARL PRIBRAM (Stanford), HANS-LUCAS TEUBER (Cambridge MA),
and OLIVER ZANGWILL (Cambridge). From vol. 11 (1973) Denny Brown was replaced on the board of editors by BRENDA MILNER.

From vol 15 to vol 21 Hécaen became officially editor-in-chief. (1977-1983)
