Abstract of
Stearley, R.F., and G. R. Smith. 1993. Phylogeny of the Pacific
trouts and salmons (Oncorhynchus) and genera of the family
Salmonidae. Trans. Amer. Fish. Soc. 122(1):1-33.
The phylogeny of the salmonidae shows lake Ohrid forms to be
primitive, near Brachymystax. Chars are more advanced; the
most advanced genera are Oncorhynchus, the pacific trout and
salmon, and Salmo, the atlantic trout and salmon.
