Abstract of
Smith, G.R., and D.R. Fisher. 1970. Factor analysis of
distribution patterns of Kansas fishes, pp. 259-277 in J.K.

Great Plains. Univ. Kansas Press, Lawrence.
The fishes of Kansas sort into regional groups based on available
water and drainage barriers and connections. The highest species
density is in the wettest (southeastern and eastern) parts of the
state. Only one species pair demonstrates clear complimentarity.
