Ann Arbor, MI.  Ann Arbor is located less than an hour away from Detroit, and four hours from Chicago. It is a a diverse, international community, with many fine restaurants, theaters, shopping centers, and entertainment throughout the year.  The University of Michigan is at the center of the city, and is the focus of cultural, educational and sports activities. With the Huron river cutting through the city, the University is surrounded by parks with beautiful running trails, golf courses, and fields. The four seasons are about the same length, and each one is marked by amazing variety of displays of nature: blossoming spring flowers, lush summer vegetation, spectacular autumn colors, and crystalline winter landscapes.

Laboratory. The University of Michigan College of Pharmacy is at the center of campus-one of the oldest and most established Pharmacy schools in the nation, ranked amongst the top five in the country.   Our laboratory is located in rooms 3025 and 3028 at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy.  We are fully equipped for experiments in cell and molecular biology, and possess chemistry capabilities. In our laboratory, we have tissue culture hood, incubator, freezers, centrifuges plus access to shared HPLC, HPLC/MS, NMR, differential scanning calorimetry, particle sizing, flow cytometry.  Most convenient, we are less than a block away from some very nice cafes and eateries.

Computer. We have several Quadscreen Dell PCs imaging workstations, with plenty of RAM, speed, hard drive space for routine image-analysis and simulation work.  In addition, we have account access to faster computers at the engineering facility, plus access to supercomputers through various collaborations.

Microscopy. We have a fully motorized, X,Y,Z NIkon 2000S Inverted Microscope with automated image acquisition and analysis capabilities, driven by Metamorph software (Universal Imaging, Inc.). We also have access to confocal, transmission, scanning electron microscopes, and kinetic high content screening instrumentation.
