Russell" Reply to: Discussion of Government Document Issues To: Multiple recipients of list GOVDOC-L Subject: FDLP Study: Final Report Outline STUDY TO IDENTIFY MEASURES NECESSARY FOR A SUCCESSFUL TRANSITION TO A MORE ELECTRONIC FEDERAL DEPOSITORY LIBRARY PROGRAM (FDLP) In order to promote and ensure the public's right to timely, equitable, and cost effective access to government information in the "information age," the U.S. Government Printing Office (GPO), at congressional direction, initiated a cooperative study last September to identify measures necessary for a successful transition to a more electronic Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). The study is now being completed and will be available to Congress at the end of March 1996. As part of the study, GPO established task forces to gather information. Each task force report has been posted to this list as a separate message. GPO is now compiling the final report of the study. Included below is an outline of the report. The draft of each section of the report will be released individually as soon as they are completed. Although time is short, your comments are welcome.
