Most Congressional hearings are published two months to two years after they are held. Copies are available in paper or microfiche at many large academic and public libraries. Hearings prior to publication are, for the most part, only available from commercial services for a fee or from libraries which subscribe to those services. (University of Michigan students may use Congressional Universe for a partial text beginning 1988.) Some hearings beginning with the 105th Congress are also available from GPO Access. The Law Librarians' Society of Washington, D.C. has a set of comprehensive links to various free sources on the web. This guide predates the LLSDC guide.
