Access

Requires a helper application which University of Michigan affiliates can download to their desktop through: http://nds.umdl.umich.edu/webstract. Copies of the helper program are available on the Documents Desk computer and Documents Computer #4.

Once you have downloaded the program to your computer, you can access it through your web browser by going to the URL: http://economics.dri-wefa.com/webstract/

1. Get into the program by clicking on a promising link, like skipping the update.


2. Select the BASIC SEARCH


3. Type in keywords OR choose a database first.


4. Highlight an individual dataBANK or get a complete list and highlight what you want. It should transfer into the box on the left.


5. Click on the SEARCH button at the top to get the search screen; then type in your keyword and GO.


6. Click on the LAYOUT button at the top. Choose format, in this case notepad.


7. Choose a disk drive and filename for downloading.


8. Choose a frequency and intervals. You can try leaving the default.


9. Choose the format. You can try leaving a default.


10. Press the RETRIEVE button at the top.


11. Finished product.
