Senate Temporary Committee Chairs
January 6-19, 2001

Last updated on January 18, 2001

Due to the 50-50 split between Republicans and Democrats in the Senate during the 107th Congress, Democrats served as committee chairs while Vice President Al Gore presided and Republicans served as committee chairs while Vice President Dick Cheney presided. The Cheney era chairs will be preserved in most records. This is a record of the interim period prior to the inauguration of Republican George W. Bush as President. Newly-elected members of the Senate are not included in this committee roster.
