October 12: The Performers(1970)
Description: 94 mins. In Japanese with no Subtitles, handouts will be provided. Kasumi, daughter of a traditional Japanese dance master, is expected to follow in her father's footsteps and take over the school, but she hopes to leave home and marry jazz musician, Hiroshi. When that relationship comes to an abrupt end she meets another man, and the two try to build his career while she dreams about Hiroshi.

October 19: Tokyo Kid (1950) Description: 79 mins. In Japanese w/ English Subtitles. Following her sick mother's wishes, twelve year old Mariko leaves home and hides from her unreliable father, who just returned home after ten years in the U.S. With no home or income, the girl makes rounds as a night club singer.

October 26: Suicide Club (2002) Description: 99 mins. In Japanese w/ English Subtitles. After 54 schoolgirls jump in front of a train in Shinjuku Station and initiate a wave of suicides across the city, a police detective tries to investigate and unravel the mystery of a rumored "Suicide Club". November 2: Three Resurrected Drunkards (1968) 80 mins. In Japanese w/ English Subtitles The story follows three students who get tangled up in a near-slapstick series of events following a case of mistaken identity.
