Work and Biography

Biography

I've always been compelled by the beauty I see in art. I began formal training in 2D art in 1996 and went to school majoring in art until 2005 (some work in 3D as well). At that point I went in a different direction from art focusing on mathematics and education. I have found that there is an amazing beauty in mathematics and human potential as well. After finishing my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan I am proud and pleased to say I currently work for the School of Education and the Institute for Social Research at U of M. In addition to my work, I am revitalizing my relationship with the arts, focusing on my painting, with the goal of completing a masters degree in fine art.

In 2006 I was fortunate enough to come across the Godai Ninpo Association, a non-profit martial art group for students at U of M. I know I wouldn't be where I am mentally or physically with out the training and support from this group. In the last few years they have become affiliated with the Ann Arbor College of Martial Arts, a dojo that embodies the same spirit as the student group.

With my art I want capture moments of beauty and the feelings that are every where this world. With my actions I want to help others reach their full potential. As always, it is through positive potential that I create.
