Education 392, Education in a Multicultural Society,


This course is for Education students enrolled in the teacher education program. It will meet on Thursdays from 1 - 4 PM in room 2224 School of Education Building. Last year's syllabus (see link below) offers an idea of the content areas covered, but because this syllabus was for a large lecture class, it will not be comparable to the syllabus for this coming winter term.

Education 642, Philosophy of Education

Scheduled for Fridays from 10 AM to 1 PM, this class is intended for students in both the master's and doctoral degree programs. We will cover central figures in the philosophy of education, from Plato to Locke to Rousseau to Dewey, and look at central questions on the nature of knowledge and morality in education. Writing for this class will stress the development of logically and conceptually sound arguments.
