Presents a view of pedagogy that divides teacher conduct into three distinct, but highly interconnected, categories, tow of them candidates for universalization, and the remaining one a feature of the teacher as unique individual:

6. A paper presented at AERA, 1999, on how our Teacher Manner Project Research Team studied the manner of classroom teachers. This paper reports on various "indirect" means that teachers employ to cultivate the moral dispositions of their students.
