Samantha Chau

The Other Horse of the Apocolypse

Meet the other girl, whom I must admit to my deep regret is not mentioned more often, of Chicago. I suspect she's got more of a plan then the rest of us combined but that's her secret for now. Quite a quirky girl of sorts who's email always comes in short bursts, usually from work as well.

Short-haired Sam
I think I met and really got to know Sam later on in Senior year, she's one of the latter folks, and it's funny because she's the first person I wrote to . I recall it was a nice summer's day and school was on the last leg of closing up and we were all gathering bits and pieces for the Battle of the Bands. I was looking for a reason to hang out and get people to sign my yearbook. Happenned to write a letter while I was outisde and Sam asked why I never wrote her. I had thought that seeing her everyday at school precluded a need to write letters to her, but she insisted and I composed one that very day. And until recently, she's always replied. Hint, hint Sam if you're reading this.

She went, along with Cindy, to the University of Chicago for undergraduate studies ... and as for now I'm not too sure since I've lost contact with her :(. Much like everybody else I have the pleasure of knowing, she's quite the active person indeed. She was part of a Christian acappella group called MaJ'N (apparently she was part of the founding generation, how involved she was with the actual creation, I don't know), and she's pretty big on that church thing. Well, most people call it church,
Catholic me doesn't quite agree, but it's all good stuff. And she's pretty big (or was) on the whole volleyball activity. Rumor has it she's part of the Yankee Volleyball Association, but that's mostly hersay.

She also worked in a lab for a good portion of her undergraduate career, and actually got a co-author credit on a paper. Specifically an abstract presented at the 8th International Meeting on Arabidopsis Research, June 25-29 1997 in Madison, Wisconsin. click here to see the abstract. A very proud thing to have, indeed.
