Zombies of the Grad

Dedicated to Reena and Mr. Mac Donald

From their unmarked graves they ascended, creatures of the night who's intentions </DL> Took form in terrorizing the pitch black campus, occupying the university with their presence, Inspiring fear of unknown size; until upon their beady eyes came the throng of Midnight Zombies, coming from the Grad. Creatures of unmatched terror, living or dead, not quite either; Products of self-imposed torture, forced to study past ungodly hours, And drained of all life and thoughts thereafter, except for the resounding one of sleep. Sweet slumber, eternal rest, a brief repose from the tests That face the zombies in the morn, along with other miscellaneous reports; 'Tis that sweet prize which they seek, the opportunity to sleep, And woe to those that block their path, who discover the one judgment zombies pass: That of foe to be destroyed. Filled with fear and racked with terror, the ghosts and ghouls quickly gathered, And fled the scene of the horrors, caused by monstrous zombie monsters. Descending into the fabric of the night, from whence they came, and thus are safe; Safe from those that study Ôtill sunrise, and leaving the zombies to return Quickly to their homes. Zombies are quite a fright, true rulers of the night, And I take great caution to prevent myself from becoming one; But the ones I have come to know are not quite bad, except for one flaw: Every so often they disappear, into the depths, so I hear, Of their favorite abode - the library - And once again are Zombies!
