Welcome to an UNOFFICIAL Ann Arbor Public Schools Website.

Ann Arbor Public Schools' Mission

"Together we will empower all students to develop, through education, the knowledge, skills and attitudes needed to create better lives for themselves and build a more just society based on democratic ideals."

The mission of the Unofficial Web Site is to publish district information which does not appear on the official district site. We present data for analysis; we do not argue for any particular conclusion.

Let's start with some "current" numbers.
We have a batch of fourth-Friday counts from September, 1997:

Most of these charts were obtained on disk as Excel spreadsheet files, from the Child Accounting office. Some of them have been re-arranged for easier reading, from side-by-side to one-above-the-other. The High School file was the only one to include "by building" (rather than "by grade") totals. For the others, spreadsheet formulas were created to sum the original data. The District-wide file was re-entered into an Excel spreadsheet from a paper copy. Spreadsheet formulas were used to compute the totals, rather than re-entering all of the numbers. The files were then saved in "Text(Tab delimited)" format. Some additional formatting has been done to improve the display.

We now have building capacity numbers!

We also have some older numbers:

These files were re-entered into Excel spreadsheets from paper copies. With the exception of the chart from the Statistical Data Report, the copies were obtained from the Child Accounting office. Spreadsheet formulas were used to compute the totals, rather than re-entering all of the numbers. The files were then saved in "Text(Tab delimited)" format. Some additional formatting has been done to improve the display.

Several of these charts use numeric codes to identify ethnicity.

The people from Mack Elementary School have provided the 1997-1998 District Calendar.
