I was a founding member of the UM Social Movements Scholars Network, an interdisciplinary doctoral student workgroup and helped plan a
mini-conference, titled "Activist Scholarship: Making Social Movement Theory Matter" that the group sponsored in May 2004.< http://www-personal.si.umich.edu/~garrettk/SMSconference/index.html>I was responsible
recommending and deploying a content management system for the web site of UM-GEO, the graduate student union at the University of Michigan. The goal was to make the web site a more central part of the union's
