William Plantagenet

William, Henry II and Eleanor of Aquitaine's first son, was born in Normandy in August 1153. His name was chosen in recognition of his Norman and Poiteven ancestry. At birth he was designated as Eleanor's heir, the future Count of Poitou and Duke of Aquitaine. He died at the age of three in April 1156 at Wallingford Castle, Berkshire, England.
