Warren W. James's - Interesting World Wide Web Sites - 8/30/95

The update for this page (as of about April 1996) is to be found here.

The following is a list of interesting World Wide Web sites that I have discovered in my travels on the Internet. I hope that you also find these sites interesting and useful, and perhaps even fun. One note of caution. Web sites frequently vanish, sometimes overnight, so I can't promise that all of these sites will be available all of the time. Also, I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information at these sites, so like always, keep a grain or two of salt handy when surfing the 'Net.

The entries in this list follow a simple format. The first line gives the address for the Web site and the second line gives the name of the site as provided by the group that is running the Web page. Some of the names are useful, others will probably just tweak your curiosity.

You may have to manually type in these addresses, or you may be able to import them into your Web browser. Feel free to experiment, but be sure to keep a backup of any bookmarks of your own that you have already created.

I have arranged these Websites into logical groupings. But I'm only human, so some of them may be mis-filed. ("That's not a bug, its an undocumented feature".) The first group of Web Sites gives you master listings of Web Sites that you can use in your own explorations. The other groupings are by, roughly, subject.

One thing to note is that Web pages are interconnected. Thus, many sites listed in this document can be reached by way of links from other sites in this list. (The moral of this is, don't go crazy loading in all of these addresses. Load a few and explore those sites first. They'll probably have links taking you to many of the other sites in this document.)

This list is growing all the time, in a week or so I'll have a newer and even longer list. Feel free to send me email with any additional sites you might find. I've gotten some wonderful inputs from other people and I'll get those incorporated into this list sometime soon. My email address is WWJAMES@EARTHLINK.NET Feel free to distribute this list to any of your friends who might be interested in it.

Enjoy

Warren W. James

P.S. Thanks for tuning into KPFK on Friday evenings at 10:00 PM to listen to "Mike HodelAEs Hour 25", at 90.7 on your FM band. Tell your friends about it. It's the longest running radio show anywhere dealing with science fiction/science fact/fantasy/space & computers.
