1984. Elected to associateship in Sigma Xi scientific research honors society.
1985. Bachelor of Music in composition from Oberlin Conservatory. Johnson/Maile Fellowship to Stanford University.
1986. Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from Oberlin College.
1987. Master of Arts in music from Stanford University. Regents Fellowship to University of Michigan.
1991. Doctor of Musical Arts from University of Michigan. First prize, Feruccio Busoni Foundation Young Composers Competition.
1999. First CD, Kabala, released.
2002. Honorable Mention, Harvey Gaul Competition of the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble. Second Prize in instrumental composition, Utah Composers Guild Competition.
