We are looking for an electrophysiologist to join our group as a postdoctoral researcher.  Studies will focus on examining changes in excitatory transmission and plasticity in striatal neurons associated with obesity (diet-induced and genetic rodent models).  Experience with whole cell patch clamp recording techniques and data analysis are necessary.  The project will incorporate transgenic and DREDD approaches.  Training will be provided in biochemistry and behavioral pharmacology.  Interested candidates should send their CV, a brief statement of research interests and goals, and the names and contact information of 3 references to: ferrario@umich.edu  Up to two years of support at the NIH scale are available but applicants will be encouraged to apply for their own funding.

Postdoctoral Researcher 2:

Ferrario Lab

Person to work part to full time to assist in experiments and perform lab maintenance.  Candidates with extensive experience using Western Blotting, immunocytochemistry, and subcellular fractionation are highly desirable.  Responsibilities include: sample preparation, rodent handling and behavioral testing, protein measurement (western blotting, protein assay etc.), preparing stock solutions, supply ordering, maintaining records and reporting, maintaining training, and general lab maintenance (dish wash, feeding, etc.).  Interested candidates should send a cover letter to ferrario@umich.edu
